The BCS System

Although I risk beating a horse that has already long since been dead...
I just wanted to add my two cents on the BCS.

The BCS is an outdated college football institution. The BCS made sense when we had nothing. And so some organization was preferably to none! But it was also a weak level of organization, and now it's really showing it's age.

It is just too imperfect to be practical.

On one side of the quarter you have..
There is nothing TCU, Boise or Utah can do to go to the BCS championship game. Their destiny is not their own. They have to hope a wildly huge amount of people lose, (and even then lose multiple times!) for them to even have a thin hope of getting in the championship game.

Whereas on the other you have teams like Hawaii and the Blue Jays..who through having extremely weak schedules can 'game' the system and get a BCS birth (Referring to a few years back when both teams made a BCS showing) and then get completely out-classed.

To anyone with a little bit of common sense, it should be obvious this system is unsustainable. It only continues because of the huge amount of money it is worth to those who control it. Shadowy mystery people.

Everyone knows we need a play-off. That it would reinvigorate the sport and give all teams a chance they deserve.

So there you have it. My two cents.
Everyone already knew it, but now you know I know it too.
